On Tuesday morning shocking news broke that state senator Creigh Deeds had been med-flighted from his cousins home in Bath County with stab wounds, attacked earlier by his own 24-year-old son Austin ‘Gus’ Deeds.

Gus Deeds was found suffering from a gunshot wound at the family home, where he died soon after.

Creigh was known as a music lover, and the kind of guy who made a point of saying something warm and positive to friends when their world was a little upside-down.

When he was on the campaign trail he was known to tweet out lyrics to songs, and links to playlists or music videos.

On Twitter, friends and politicos wanted to amplify the well wishes, and began to tweet a collective playlist dedicated to the senator, whose condition has been upgraded from critical to fair.

Around 4:17 p.m. Candace Bryan Abbey (@CBryanAbbey) suggested a round of tunes in honor of Creigh, and Ben Tribbett (@notlarrysabato) helped push out the message.
