HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- A jury has acquitted one of the four people on trial for the beating death of 21-year-old Rusty Mack.

Jonathan Guy, 20, was found not guilty Friday afternoon on all charges, including second degree murder and murder by mob.

CBS 6 was there with Guy's family Friday night as they waited for him to be released from Riverside Regional Jail. He was released a little after 8:30 p.m.

Court documents reveal Mack was hit and kicked outside of his Colonial Heights apartment by four people on Feb. 11. Mack died from his injuries on Feb. 28.

One of the alleged attackers was Mack's estranged wife, whom he had only been married to for a few months.

Both Guy and Mack’s family teared up after the verdict was read.

Mack’s mother was visibly shaken by the verdict. She told CBS 6 News' Chelsea Rarrick that she fears if Guy walks free, the three others accused in her son’s death will also be acquitted.

Guy’s mother, who also talked to Rarrick , said the evidence proved itself.

Guy’s stepbrother said this has been a very difficult time for the family, especially since Guy and Mack were cousins.

Although Mack's mother was not happy with the verdict, Guy's mother, Karen Harrah told CBS 6 that her prayers were with the family.
