RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - A group of students from Richmond's Linwood Holton Elementary School visited the White House to be a part of  First Lady Michelle Obama's healthy food announcement on Wednesday.

Mrs. Obama's announcement has to do with "marketing healthier foods to children," according to the White House.

Holton was recognized for its "well-maintained vegetable and flower gardens."

"Each grade level maintains its own flowerbeds, along with help from parents and community members," the White House indicated in its announcement. "Linwood Holton Elementary also has curriculum aligned with their gardens."

The White House also highlighted Holton's rain garden and commitment to ensure healthy snack options for students.
