BILOXI, Miss. (WGNO) -- A weekend project restoring the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina has turned into an artist's life work.

Sculptor Marlin Miller transforms dead trees along the Mississippi Gulf Coast into amazing works of art.

Miller said the devastation provided him with his canvas, which started as a weekend hobby carving up dead oak trees.

The 52-year-old's goal was to make the Mississippi coast look beautiful again.

His artwork has also been featured in about a dozen art galleries throughout the coast.
