School lockdown lifted after Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The lockdown at several Richmond schools was lifted shortly after noon Wednesday. The schools were locked down Wednesday morning after a man was shot on N. 29th Street in Richmond.

The shooting victim was taken to VCU Medical Center in a private vehicle, according to Richmond Police. His condition is not yet know. The investigation into the shooting is on-going.

Locked down schools included Fairfield Elementary, Armstrong High, George Mason Elementary, Woodville Elementary and Franklin Military Academy.

The shooting did not appear to be connected to the schools.
