COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A Colorado Springs mother is giving her son cannabis, instead of doctor recommended chemotherapy, while her son is in remission after being treated for cancer.
Sierra Riddle moved to Colorado Springs from Utah in order to give her son cannabis as treatment, reported KRDO-TV.
Riddle said her son, Landon, 3, would “vomit like 50 times a day. No pharmaceuticals could stop it.”
She found an alternative in cannabis and has been giving Landon four capsules a day. He had been taking almost 25 pills a day while on chemotherapy.
“Within three months, we all could see that chemo was killing Landon,” said Riddle.
Child protective services in Colorado Springs has been notified about the mother’s decision and will meet with Riddle on Wednesday, KRDO reported.
Riddle said she plans on proving medical marijuana is a safe alternative.
