RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Gas prices fell seven cents over the last week in Richmond,  according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of more than 550 metro-Richmond gas stations. The average price of gas in the area is now $3.15 a gallon.

The national average price is $3.49 a gallon.

“Gasoline prices continue to move lower nationally as we’ve now officially moved into fall,” Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan said. “Looking forward, we’re likely to see additional relief at pumps in the months ahead, and it’s quite possible that by the time we’re observing Thanksgiving that gasoline prices will be twenty or more cents per gallon lower.”

Richmond gas prices are 47 cents per gallon lower today than last year at this time.
