CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Chesterfield Police charged two students with bringing knives to school Tuesday – the first day of school in the county.
Police said a 9-year-old Bellwood Elementary School student was caught with folding knife.
The student did not threaten anyone with the three-inch blade, police said. A classmate saw the knife and reported it to a teacher. The child is charged with possession of a weapon on school property.
A 16-year-old year Chesterfield Community High School was also charged with possession of a weapon on school property. A folding knife with a three-and-one-eighths-inch blade fell out of the student’s pocket in front of a school administrator, police said.
No one was injured in either incident.
