RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) -  People marched for jobs, equality and voting rights around Richmond Saturday morning.

To achieve them, some say, they must take their motivation from Saturday's march and carry it into the voting booth in November.

About 200 filled the streets, chanting and carrying signs, as they made their way from near the coliseum to the grounds of the state capitol.

Greeted by Senator Henry Marsh, (D) 16th Senate District, who told the group "I want to congratulate you because you didn't only think about the movement, you did something and came out and marched."

Some like Michael Lipscomb say, though small in numbers "Sometimes it don't really take a big crowd to get your point across but I think it's positive."

King Salim Khalfani, Executive Directive of the Virginia Chapter of the NAACP says though the marchers were few in numbers their enthusiasm was energetic and they understand what they must do in the future "We're encouraging people to look at the circumstances around us and that may motivate them to participate, to got to the General Assembly, go to City Council, go to their Board of Supervisors, School Board, because if we don't, we're going to lose."
