HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- The Henrico Commonwealth's Attorney said she will not recuse her office from the investigation involving state delegate Joe Morrissey and a 17-year-old girl.

Shannon Taylor said her political affiliation has nothing to do with the Joe Morrissey case.

Taylor, who is a Democrat, attended campaign events for Morrissey-- and even posted these pictures of herself with him on her campaign website.

Taylor said a deputy from her office is working with police on the investigation.

Police are investigating Morrissey's relationship with a 17-year-old girl, after the teen's father called them last Friday night, telling officers his daughter was at the delegate's home.

However, a lawyer for the teen's mother said the girl had a good reason for being at Morrissey's house.

He said the teen, who works at Morrissey's law office, was discussing a highly sensitive personal and legal matter, and that she had her mother's permission to be there.

Morrissey has not been charged with a crime.
