DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - The Federal Aviation Administration's investigation into a remote-controlled aircraft crash at the Great Bull Run in Dinwiddiehas raised other questions in the local law enforcement community.

Saturday's incident, which injured three people, served as a wake-up call to police and lawmakers.

"We would definitely have to reach out and try to figure out what laws govern air space and commercialized or privatized type vehicles," Petersburg Police Chief John Dixon said.

"I do think we need to just make sure that we're, that our laws keep up with technology," Delegate Jennifer McClellan (D - Richmond) said.

A CBS 6 News camera caught two remote-controlled aircraft flying during the Great Bull Run during Saturday's event. One crashed into the crash injuring three people.

"If they have rules in place, they need to make sure the rules were followed, but we need to recognize that as technology changes we need to adapt and make sure it's used safely," Del. McClellan said.
