UPDATE: Richmond Police identified the man found in a Forest Hill ditch as 64-year-old Sammy Ferguson. Police said foul play was not suspected in Ferguson's death.
RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The Richmond Police Department says a death investigation is underway after a body was found near the railroad tracks in Forest Hill.
Officials said police received a call around 5:30 p.m. about a person lying in the ditch near at Jahnke Road and Clarence Street.
Detectives are are working to identify the victim, who is described as a white male in his 60s, and notify next of kin.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the how the man died.
