DANVILLE, Va. -Members of a Danville church are cleaning up hate messages that were left on their building.
A photo posted on the Facebook page for Schoolfield Church of the Brethren shows an anarchy symbol, a pentagram, and an upside down cross painted in red on the back of the church. The phrase “Ave Satanas,” Latin for “Hail Satan,” was written underneath the images.
“You can do whatever you want to this church, you can’t change what’s in the inside,” said a member of the congregation.
The Danville Police Department is investigating. Police said, if caught, the person who did it could be charged with a hate crime.
