FAIRFAX, Va. (WTVR) - The first Virginia abortion clinic to close after new regulations were put into place this year claims those new regulations were the  reason for the closure.

Open since 2006, NOVA Women's Healthcare in Fairfax was the busiest clinic in the state.

The clinic would have needed to upgrade its facility under new regulations or move to a new building with facilities that match those in a hospital. The clinic had applied to retrofit the building. but the zoning permit was denied.
