Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration

RICHMOND, VA. (WTVR): Take a step back in time to Henrico County’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration. This family friendly event is filled with activities including a Flag Raising Ceremony, a reading of the Declaration of Independence over traditional drum and fife music followed by a musket salute. Uncle Sam makes an appearance on stilts and live performances that include The Diggity Dudes, an American flag give-away, arts and crafts, face painting, contests and games, pony rides and tours of Meadow Farm Museum.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy a Sand Sculpture Exhibition and children 12 and under can have some fun in the sun at the Star-Spangled Splash Zone and a ride on the Double Drop Dolphin Slide. An Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration is Thursday, July 4th, from 1-5pm, at Meadow Farm Museum and Crump Park, 3400 Mountain Road in Glen Allen. It is free and open to the public.
