DINWIDDIE, Va. (WTVR)—An unexpected delivery today, off of Route 460.
While most of the world went about their Monday morning business, one baby was busy coming into the world.
A mother and her daughter were enroute to the hospital when they realized the baby was going to come before they could arrive. The soon-to-be grandmother called 911 and dispatchers walked her through the delivery.
They pulled the car over and successfully followed the instructions. When the EMS crew arrived, they heard the baby crying.
The baby, named Dai'mya Hardy, was born at 11:07 a.m. near Cox Road off Route 460, in a Chrysler Town and Country minivan. Her grandmother, Sequita Jones-Maddox has two years experience in nursing school.
Baby Hardy, who weighed in at 6 lbs, 6 oz., and her mom are doing just great and will be released soon from Southside Regional Medical Center.
