RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – How does U.S. House Majority Leader and Virginia Congressman Eric Cantor celebrate a milestone birthday? With birthday cake of course.
Rep. Cantor tweeted out a photo of him blowing out the candles on his 50th birthday cake today.

His tweet indicates the cake came from Shyndigz, a cake and dessert cafe on Patterson Ave. in Richmond.
Cantor, who was first elected to the Virginia General Assembly in 1991, has served as a Virginia congressman since he was sworn-in on January 3, 2001. Cantor rose to the position of House Majority Leader in 2011.
Here’s video of a then 29-year-old Cantor talking to CBS 6 News about a gambling bill making its way through the General Assembly. Cantor
