HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- A Henrico elementary school kept students from leaving the building Friday afternoon after a dog bit a child outside the building.
It happened about 1:45 p.m. at Greenwood Elementary School in Glen Allen.
Two dogs were spotted on school grounds, causing administrators to bring students in from the playground and call animal control.
However, a 5-year-old child walking with her parent near the school was later bitten.
Dismissal was delayed for a few minutes while animal control searched and captured the dog a short time later.
The family said the little girl is doing ok and thanked the school for their quick actions.
