Richmond Bacon Festival announced

Bacon-flavored cotton candy. Is that a thing?

If it does exist, the place to find it would be at Richmond’s first Bacon festival.

The last time I checked, the attendance list on Facebook had jumped up by 200.

Duh. It’s hard to believe that in a city of bacon fanatics and brew-happy-foodies the event has taken this long.

The Richmond Bacon Festival will be held on Sunday, June 9, at the 17th Street Farmer’s Market in Shockoe Bottom.

A full restaurant and beer list will announced soon. You can count on bacon-centric dishes, Virginia brews and slap-happy, euphoric faces.

Beer tickets will be $6 each; food, $3 a plate. The event is cash-only, and there’s an ATM on site if you wind up needing more bacon and brew than you thought.

From the Facebook invite:

Join us for the first annual Richmond Bacon Festival, presented by Devils Backbone Brewery, Cox Radio, and Style Weekly, to benefit Enrichmond.

Sample unique bacon-centric dishes from more than 20 of Richmond’s most popular restaurants and wash it all down with a selection of 20+ Virginia craft beers from Devils Backbone Brewery and Bold Rock Hard Cider.

Live music, local vendors, and more will round out what is sure to be an epically delicious day!

Entertainment has been booked. Thanks for the inquiries.
