Man dies in stabbing

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Police are investigating a deadly stabbing in Richmond Saturday night.

Dispatchers received a call to the 00 block of East 29th Street around 8:41 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a male in his 50s lying in the road. He appeared to have multiple stab wounds.

Officials say the victim was transported to VCU Medical Center where he later died. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Police have a suspect in custody. They will release the identity once the suspect has been charged.

Authorities will release the victim’s identity once they notify his family.
