RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Help Save the Next Girl was founded by Dan and Gil Harrington in memory of their daughter, Morgan Harrington, who went missing in 2009 and was later found murdered in 2010.

The Harrington’s brought their Help Save the Next Girl campaign to Richmond for the first time and held an event at Jake & Friends (Life is Good), a local neighborhood shoppe.

The family hopes that by moving forward from their own tragedy through the work of this campaign, awareness will be brought to individuals and communities nationwide that will in return help to save the next girl.

Among attendees was the mother of Bethany Deckers, Kim Nelson. Deckers went missing in 2011. Since then Nelson has joined forces and campaigns to keep the public’s attention and raise awareness.
