RICHMOND, VA (WTVR): The Parkfest Blues Festival makes its debut in Pocahontas State Park Saturday, May 11. The inaugural event sponsored by The River City Blues Society of Virginia is a benefit for Special Olympics Virginia.

The festival features local bands, Andrew Ali & Last Night Blues Band and the Mike Lucci Band and regional bands Mikey Junior from Philadelphia and Albert Castiglia from South Florida.

There will also be an interactive exhibit on loan from the Library of Virginia regarding information on blues music and its roots in American and Virginia music and Acoustic Blues music in between the main stage breaks. Tickets including parking are $40 in advance, they will be $40 at the gate plus $5 parking fee. For more information visit
