Armed robbery in Hopewell leads to foot pursuit

HOPEWELL, Va. (WTVR) – Police responded to an armed robbery at a grocery store that led to a foot pursuit.

When police arrived on scene at 4:52 p.m., they discovered that the armed robbery at the Community Food Mart on the 300 block of South Mesa Drive was already in progress.

Officials say the suspect, identified as Marquee Wooden, left the store as officers approached him.  A foot pursuit began, and ended in the 300 block of Hoke Ave.

Wooden is being charged with an armed robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
