CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Area law enforcement have arrested 26 people in connection with a prostitution bust Thursday along the Midlothian Turnpike corridor in Chesterfield County.
Chesterfield and Henrico police, along with the Department of Homeland Security (ICE) and the FBI, conducted the undercover operation on March 28. [RELATED: Police: Prostitution sting nabs high school teacher]
Authorities said 26 people are facing more than 30 criminal charges, including solicitation of prostitution and various drug charges.
Chesterfield police said in a news release that sting’s aim was to crack down on the illegal sex trade, often advertised Craigslist and Backpage.com.
