New presenters, performers announced for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction

(CNN) — The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony just added a slew of big names to its attendees list for the evening.

Joining previously announced presenters and performers will be Carole King, Usher, Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell, Harry Belafonte, Spike Lee, Cheech & Chong, John Fogerty, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Jackson Browne and Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell.

The 28th annual event counts Heart, Randy Newman, Public Enemy, Rush, Albert King and Donna Summer in its new class of inductees.

Lou Adler and Quincy Jones will also be recognized at the 28th annual induction ceremony with the Ahmet Ertegun Award for Lifetime Achievement. Newly announced performer Usher will put on a show for Jones, while Carole King’s going to perform for Lou Adler. Comedy’s Cheech & Chong are going to present the music industry vet with his award.

Pearl Jam’s McCready and Alice in Chains’ Cantrell are going to perform for Heart, with John Fogerty and Jackson Browne performing for Randy Newman. Spike Lee and Harry Belafonte are going to present for Public Enemy, and Chris Cornell’s going to induct Heart.

Previously announced performers Jennifer Hudson and Christina Aguilera are going to perform in honor of Donna Summer, while John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr. will perform for Albert King.

The induction ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on April 18, and will air on HBO May 18 at 9 p.m. ET.
