RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The search continues for the driver who hit a nine-year-old child in Richmond and drove away. Police with the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority (RRHA) said investigators are still looking for clues and trying to locate people who witnessed Friday’s hit and run.

Police said a “cream-colored or primer-colored Chevy Malibu-type of vehicle” struck the child on Charity Street in Gilpin Court Friday afternoon. Neighbors said the child had just gotten off the school bus when she was hit. Police said the driver failed to stop at a stop sign.

A surveillance camera took a picture of the hit and run vehicle. Police were working to enhance that image before releasing it to the media.

Anyone with information is asked to call the RRHA Police Tipline at 804-780-4006 or Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
