FREE ADMISSION:   Second Annual Executive Mansion Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Governor and Mrs. McDonnell, Weds. March 27 5p.m. to 7p.m. Enjoy live music, an egg hunt, prizes, games, appearances by mascots and historic figures, and much more!  Bring a basket for the egg hunt featuring great prizes!  Details [HERE].

KIDS EAT FREE:  Until March 31st,  Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to close at all Bob Evans locations–including Broad & Glenside in Richmond and 8700 Midlothian Turnpike.

FREE ADMISSION:  On Saturday and Sunday, March 23 & 24, seven historic Richmond Homes – Agecroft Hall, the John Marshall House, the Edgar Allan Poe Museum, Virginia House, the White House of the Confederacy, Wickham House, and the Wilton House Museum – will offer free admission. Print this  Time Traveler Passport and bring it with you when you visit each home.

FREE ADMISSION:  Chesterfield Comic-Con.  Sat. March 23 from  10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Meadowdale Library-4301 Meadowdale Blvd. Enjoy games and anime films and attend workshops by local artists.  There will be costume contests with prizes for kids, teens and adults. FREE ADMISSION:  K-9 Heroes Day.  Sat. March 23  11a.m.-2p.m.; Courthouse Park, 7232 Courtland Farm Road, Hanover.  The event features an opening ceremony,   pet vendors and pet interest items, and an assortment of service oriented (military, search and rescue, police) canine demonstrations.  Details [HERE].

FREE CELEBRATION:  Dorey Park ,Thurs. March 21 from 10-11:30am.  Activities include a puppet show, carnival activities, and face painting.  Bring a basket and for the egg hunt finale!  Details [HERE].FREE ADMISSION:   Join Richmond Parks and Rec Saturday ,March 23 for free admission to ‘Eggstravaganza’ for children 11 and younger.  10 a.m. to 2 p.m at Pine Camp Arts and Community Center at 4901 Old Brook Rd..  Bring your own basket for the egg hunts and the chance to win candy and prizes.  There`ll also be a petting zoo, plus live music and games.

FREE FAMILY FUN:  Arts and crafts, face painting, and the great egg hunt. Saturday March 23 from 2-3:30pm at The Armour House on Clarendon Road.

FREE PROGRAMS:  Thursday, March 21st, The Richmond Ballet presents, “Ballet in the ‘Burbs” with free programs at three area libraries.   4:45p.m. at the Tuckahoe Library on Starling Drive, 5p.m. at the Pamunkey Library on Atlee Road, and 5p.m. at the Twin Hickory Library.    Students from Minds In Motion will perform dances based on different children’s books .  Details [HERE].

FREE PROGRAM:  Be loud in the library  with the Greater Richmond Children’s Choir’s  entry level Treble Choir presenting music, poetry, games, and singalongs from around the world. Sat. March 23 at 2pm  at the Richmond Public Library, 101 E. Franklin St. Details [HERE].

FREE PROGRAM:  “Stories at the Museum”  at the Virginia Historical Society. All ages welcome,  every program will include a group reading of the selected book and a related craft activity. The one hour programs  will  take place the first and third Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m.  Details [HERE].

FREE JAZZ: The Virginia Museum has free admission to it’s Jazz Cafe’ program Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Jazz Cafe and general VMFA Museum admission are always free. Full performance schedule [HERE]

FREE FLAG CLEANING:  Get your American flag cleaned for free at any Puritan Cleaners any day of the year at any of their 13 locations in the metro area.

FREE KIDS HAIRCUTS:   JC Penney is offering free haircuts to children in Kindergarten-to-6th grade every Sunday.

FREE FOR ACTIVE MILITARY: Free annual passes to America’s National Parks (value $80) are now  available to members of the military and their families free of charge.  The pass allows entrance  to more than 2,000 national parks, wildlife refuges and other public lands. The free pass will be made available for activated members of the National Guard and Reserves but not to military veterans or retirees. Military personnel can get the passes by showing their military I.D at any national park or wildlife refuge that charges an entrance fee.

FREE LESSON: Take  a free introductory lesson; ice skating or ice hockey at either SkateNation Plus in Short Pump or Richmond Ice Zone in Midlothian.

LOTS OF FREE STUFF: How about getting and giving stuff free? The Freecycle Network is made up of nearly five thousand groups and nearly 70-thousand members around the world who are getting and giving away stuff free. Membership is free It’s a great way to recycle, get rid of items you don’t want, and get things you do.

FREE MUSEUM ADMISSION: The first full weekend of each month at CMOR(Children’s Museum of Richmond) for Bank of America and Merril Lynch cardholders.

KIDS EAT FREE: All children eat  free at Quaker Steak & Lube Sundays through Thursdays, 4p.m. to 10p.m. The deal is good for children age 10 and under. The Richmond-area location is at 8000 W. Broad St.

FREE QDOBA: Children eat free at Qdoba on Sundays with the purchase of an adult entrée.

FREE KIDS MEALS: Kids eat free at McAlister’s Deli every Tuesday from  9 p.m. with the purchase of an adult entree.  There are two locations in the Richmond area, Gayton Crossing and Westchester Commons in Midlothian.

FREE STUFF: If you’re a Facebook member, a lot of restaurants are currently offering freebies, if you “like” them on Facebook. Search for your favorite and see if they have an offer. And while you’re on Facebook, stop by the  CBS 6 page and “like” us too.

FREE FIREHOUSE SUBS: A lot of restaurants offer birthday clubs that you have to sign up for, to get freebies on your special day. At Firehouse Subs, just show up on your birthday with I.D with your birth date, and get a free medium sub. There are several locations in the metro area.

FREE ADMISSION: Enjoy free admission all year long  to The Virginia Historical Society,  with access to the museum galleries and research library. The museum is at 428 North Boulevard in Richmond.
