RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – More than 50,000 power customers remain without electricity in Virginia follow Wednesday’s snowstorm.
More than 30,000 are co-op customers, according to Mary Howell with the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives.
The organization provided the following outage breakdown at 7:00 a.m..:
- BARC Electric Cooperative – 1,535
- Central Virginia Electric Cooperative – 8,094
- Rappahannock Electric Cooperative – 23,907
- Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative – 432
Dominion Virginia Power reported 21,000 customers still without power, at 7:00 a.m. Less than 2,000 of those customers were in the Central Virginia region, according to Dominion.
The majority of the outages, 18,000+, are in the Shenandoah Valley / Western Piedmont region.
