100,000+ in Virginia without power

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - More than 100,000 customers remain without power in Virginia following Wednesday's snowstorm, according to the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM).

More than 40,000 Dominion Virginia Power customers are without electricity at 10:30 a.m.

The Shenandoah Valley/Western Piedmont region was the hardest hit area, followed by northern and central Virginia. Click here for updated power numbers.

As of 12pm today, Dominion reported more than 7,000 customers in the Richmond Metro area were still experiencing outages. The largest number of those customers live in Goochland County.

Dominion expects to have 95 percent of the outages statewide to be restored by Friday night.

Dominion asked customers to report outages by calling 1-866-DOM-HELP (1-866-366-4357).
