RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Police have released the name of a person killed in a crash along the Downtown Expressway in Richmond.
Virginia State Police Sgt. Thomas Molnar said 52-year-old Frederick E. Goetz Jr., of the 1400 block of North 22nd Street in Richmond, was killed after his vehicle ran off the left side of the road and overturned..
Molnar said Goetz was traveling from northbound Powhite Parkway to east bound Downtown Expressway around 7 a.m. when the accident happened.
Goetz was the only person in the vehicle.
The left lane of westbound Downtown Expressway was closed for nearly two hours, but reopened shortly after 9 a.m.
UPDATE: State Police say lanes on the Downtown Expressway will be closed for at least an hour. Crash working before 195. South. #rvatraffic
