ELPASO, Texas (CBS) – A high school basketball coach in Texas wanted to make his team manager’s dream come true. Coach Peter Morales put Mitchell Marcus into the team’s last game of the season with one minute to go.
Mitchell has a developmental disability.
Teammates passed Mitchell the ball so he could score, but Mitchell could not make a basket.
With just seconds left in the game, an opposing player made a choice that speaks volumes about his character.
“I think I’ll cry about it for the rest of my life,” Mitchell’s mom Amy told CBS reporter Steve Hartman.
