Our weekend got off to a wet start with rain earlier today. The clouds will hang tough tonight, and some occasional mist or drizzle is possible, along with areas of fog. While you may wake up to cloudy skies tomorrow, the weather will improve by late morning, as the sun makes its return. Skies will be mostly sunny during the afternoon, and temperatures will respond, rising into the upper 50s. For most, it will be a welcome change from the cloudy, chilly conditions of the last two days.
The new work week will start with a sunny day Monday, but clouds will be on the increase by the evening. We’ll be tracking the next storm, which will arrive from the southwest by Tuesday morning. This one could produce a round of heavy rain across central Virginia, lingering into Tuesday night. As you can see from our forecast model below, the I-81 corridor may again run the risk of some wintry weather, so it’s a possibility we’ll be following very closely over the next 48 hours.
