Is Sweet Brown, the outspoken lady with the great laugh, transitioning from web stardom to commercial success?

On April 7, 2012, a three-alarm fire spread through the Oklahoma City Chateau Deville apartment complex, leaving one person injured and five units damaged.

Another blaze was ignited: the Sweet Brown meme.

Sweet Brown was interviewed by KFOR affiliates, and thus gave rise to a line now embedded in mainstream culture: “Ain’t nobody got time for that.”

“Well, I woke up to get me a cold pop and then I thought somebody was barbecuing. I said, ‘Oh Lord Jesus, it’s a fire.’ Then I ran out, I didn’t grab no shoes or nothing, Jesus. I ran for my life and then the smoke got me, I got bronchitis! Ain’t nobody got time for that.”

After that, just like the famed Antoine Dodson of “Bed Intruder” fame, Sweet Brown was suddenly everywhere.

She even won Jimmy Kimmel’s video clip of the year award and was flown to Los Angeles to accept.

Her latest video is now starting to go viral on the internet, and it’s a commercial for the Oklahoma dentist Shortline Dental. [Scroll to the bottom for video]

General Manager David Riggs said Shortline Dental is a small family business with three offices and 35 employees around the Tulsa area. A media agency made the pitch to use Sweet Brown in a commercial spot.

While they have been advertising since the business was founded in 2006, this is their first viral commercial. The spot was produced three weeks ago, before the Super Bowl.

Riggs said that “Sweet Brown is the real deal,” and a nice person. He also said that since the commercial hit YouTube they have started to get some interesting calls—but he wouldn’t classify them as prank calls.

He said that people have been calling and riffing on the video. Someone from North Carolina called on Thursday and said they had a toothache, probably from too much “cold pop.”

Riggs told CBS 6 he was impressed that the video has upwards of 1,800 views, but he should wait, as we’ve seen with Sweet Brown in the past, that’s nothing. After all, it’s only been up a day.

Most of the comments are positive so far. “Whoever thought of this gets an award for greatest idea ever,” said one user.
