HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Police charged a mother accused of leaving her sleeping baby in a vehicle in an Innsbrook-area parking lot while she went shopping, Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney said.

Police were called to the 10900 block of West Broad Street (the intersection of West Broad Street and Cox Road) on Monday after someone saw the sleeping child in the vehicle.

Police found the child a few minutes after they arrived to investigate.

Katherine Anne Rose Litzenburg, 36, is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The high temperature that day was 43 degrees.

Police would not say how long they believed the child was left alone in the vehicle.
