RICHMOND (WTVR)--Many Richmonders, including numerous city leaders were outraged to learn that so many trees were knocked down when construction began at the new Washington Redskins training camp site, behind the Science Museum of Virginia.
A public discussion about the future of a public park area next to the campsite, will take place tomorrow night. This will give the public an opportunity to tell city leaders how the trees should be replaced.
The mayor’s office says they want to hear your suggestions.
Last month construction crews accidentally plowed over all of the woods that were located behind the museum.
The city says it was the result of a mis-communication with the project’s contractor and has vowed to plant more trees.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday night, at 5:30 p.m., at the Science Museum of Virginia, in the Thalhimer Theater. The museum is located on 2500 West Broad Street.
