As of 9:45 p.m., State Troopers were still handling 108 calls for service, with 56 of those being traffic crashes and another 34 for disabled vehicles.
Snow began falling in the metro area around 2 p.m., but the roads were quickly coated. With the total at an inch and a half, the wrecks piled up.
