More fires set in Eastern Shore community

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Two weekend fires in Accomack County are believed to be the work of an arsonist, according to Virginia State Police. Sunday’s fires bring the total number of arson fires in the Eastern Shore community to 39 since Nov. 12.

“All fires are currently being investigated in an ongoing arson investigation,” Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya wrote in an email.

The Sunday fires, a storage shed in Nelsonia and a brush fire in Onley, were the first arson fires to be set in several weeks.
