CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Police tell CBS 6 a tip led to the Chesterfield arrest of an elementary school teacher accused of bringing heroin to school.
Police went to Swift Creek Elementary School Monday and pulled Young out of school to search her.
Investigators say they found heroine and a syringe in her purse and car.
Young is charged with possessing drugs on school property. School was in session when she was arrested, but police can’t say whether she was teaching class at the time.
A Chesterfield Schools spokesman says Young was immediately removed from the school and is not allowed to teach pending the outcome of her case.
Young has been released on bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 13.
