Gun rights proponents unhappy with Obama’s tougher gun laws

(WTVR) — President Obama signed 23 executive orders to strengthen gun laws earlier this week.

Tougher gun laws is a topic of heated debate for people on both sides of the issue.

Some say they strengthening background checks and expanding safety programs can only be a good thing.

However, proponents of gun rights say the president’s orders are stripping responsible gun owners from the second amendment.

Phillip Van Cleave with the Virginia Citizens Defense League said he believes strengthening the law would not make a difference in preventing mass shootings like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary.
