WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVR) - Final preparations are underway for President Barack Obama's Inauguration on Monday and one Dinwiddie County woman is playing a big role in the preps.

Army specialist Delandra Rollins had the honor of standing in for First Lady Michelle Obama during rehearsals for the Inauguration. She said her superior officers chose her to fill the position.

"At first, I thought they were pranking me. It's a huge honor. I was so excited," Rollins said.

Rollins said her favorite part of rehearsals was going down the steps of the U.S. Capitol with the man standing in as the president, and walking up to the podium and hearing onlookers cheer.

In addition to Rollins, some Richmond police officers are also taking part in Inaugural activities. They'll provide extra security for the event.
