Bomb threat cancels classes in Nelson County

NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Students in Nelson County were sent home early Wednesday after a bomb threat.

WDBJ-TV reports school leaders said all of the county’s schools were dismissed as a precaution following a bomb threat at Nelson County High School.

High school and middle school students were sent home at noon. The county’s elementary schools dismissed at 12:30 p.m.

This message was posted on the Nelson County Public Schools website:

All Nelson County Schools will be closing beginning at noon today (January 9, 2013).  A bomb threat has been received at Nelson County High School and as a result schools are closing early as a precaution.  The high school and middle school will dismiss at noon today and the elementary schools will dismiss by 12:30pm.  All after school activities are cancelled at the high school and middle school today.
