ASTORIA, Ore. – An Oregon teenager has been arrested after he posted a message on Facebook in which he appears to admit driving while drunk.

According to KPTV.com, police were told about a hit-and-run on New Year’s day around 1 a.m. A white Scion had been sideswiped by another vehicle and several pieces of the suspect’s vehicle, including a taillight and a bumper cover, were left behind.

A second car was also hit.

Later that day police received a tip from someone who saw a Facebook post by Jacob Cox-Brown that said “Drivin drunk….. classic ;) but to whoever’s vehicle i hit i am sorry. :P”

Police went to Cox-Brown’s home and found a car that matched the damage from the hit-and-run crash scene, police said.

Cox-Brown was arrested on a charge of failure to perform the duties of a driver.

Police have not charged him with a DUI, because the Facebook post is not enough to prove he was intoxicated at the time.
