RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – This is the year of rookie quarterbacks in the NFL.

Three are in the playoffs:

The Colts Andrew Luck, the number one draft pick last year.
The Redskins Robert Griffin III, picked number two in the draft.

And the quarterback for the team Griffin is playing Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson of Richmond, picked 75th in the draft.

Wilson is the smallest starting quarterback in the National Football League.

But his former coach at the Collegiate School, athletic director Charlie McFall, and Wilson’s lifelong friend, Scott Pickett say the numbers don’t take in to account the size of Russell Wilson’s heart.
