Construction suspended for the New Year: Hull Street closures January 2nd

Posted

RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) - Expect increased congestion on the roadways through the weekend and relief on the construction front. Crews will be putting traffic on hold as we move towards the New Years Holiday. This only applies to temporary construction barriers. Permanent construction barriers will stay in place. For example this means closures will continue along Riverside Drive just off the Huguenot Bridge. However, you can expect all lanes to be open across the bridge heading into the weekend. Construction bans are due to be lifted on January 1st at noon.

Just to prep you for the next week; Crews will begin repairing storm water structures at the intersections of 21st and Hull and at the intersection of 20th and Hull. Starting January 2nd through January 23rd you can expect delays and detours from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day, weather permitting. One lane of Hull St will be closed for construction to repair drop inlets or holes under the pavement through this area. Storm sewer pipe will be installed on W. 20th St. and W. 21st St. The last 100 feet of each street at the intersection of Hull St. be closed for several days. Detours will be posted.
