(CNN) - Some Netflix users who wanted to curl up on the couch with a movie on Christmas Eve were out of luck! The streaming video service was out for a good chunk of the day.
On its Twitter page, Netflix blamed Amazon's cloud infrastructure for the problem.
The Wall Street Journal quotes Netflix as saying the outage stretched "across the Americas," but that some devices still worked.
Netflix apologized in a tweet yesterday, calling it "terrible timing."
We're sorry for the Christmas Eve outage. Terrible timing! Engineers are working on it now. Stay tuned to @Netflixhelps for updates.
