WICHITA, Kan. (WTVR) — Everyone puts them up this time of year, but one Kansas man’s Christmas lights landed him a ticket.
An officer with the Wichita Police Department cited and fined David Hill because of the holiday lights he put on his truck, claiming they could’ve been confused with an emergency vehicle.
Hill says that claim is ridiculous.
“If you see this thing coming down the road and believe its an emergency vehicle you might want to check your sanity,” Hill said.
Police say they’re not trying to be grinches, but are concerned the truck will turn heads, causing a distraction to other drivers.
