RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — A convicted Richmond sex offender is back in jail and facing new charges.
State police said the mother of a 15-year-old called them Saturday to report she had found out about inappropriate behavior between her daughter and 47-year-old Louis Speight.
State police said Speight, of the 3700 block of Garland Avenue in Richmond, was arrested without Saturday afternoon at his residence.
He has been charged with eight counts of Taking Indecent Liberties with a Child, one count of Object Sexual Penetration and one count of Use of Communications Systems to Facilitate Certain Offenses Involving Children.
Speight, who was convicted of forcible sodomy in Chesapeake in 1984, is being held without bond. He was also charged in July 2002 and in Henrico in 2009 for failing to register as a violent sex offender, according to the Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry.
