UPDATE: All lanes have been reopened.
CHESTERFIELD, Va (WTVR) – Virginia State Police are on scene at an overnight motor vehicle crash in Chesterfield this morning blocking lanes on Hull Street at Route 288. Police responded to the single vehicle crash at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012. The crash involves a 2005 International Truck with dual trailers.
The driver was attempting to exit onto westbound Route 360 and ran off the left side of the roadway. The truck cab and one of the trailers overturned onto the drivers side spilling some of its contents out onto the roadway.
The driver, Rory T. Jenkins Sr., 56 of Richmond, Va. was wearing his safety belt and suffered minor injuries. Jenkins was then transported to Chippenham Medical Center. He has been charged with reckless driving.
Currently, the two right lanes of Route 360 westbound at 288 remain closed as crews continue to clean up the contents that spilled out from the trailer and to upright the tractor trailer. The lane closure are expected to last through the morning rush-hour.
