LONG ISLAND, NY (WTVR) - Those who made it through Hurricane Sandy say it's like adding insult to injury.

The Long Island Power Authority charged customers an average amount for their electricity bills, customers who didn't have power for weeks.

The power company says they charged the average amount for a bill the year before because utility employees were used to getting their power back.

After the outrage, a spokesperson for the company says they'll get a new adjusted bill based on the amount they actually used.
