Crews cut into machinery to put out fire

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Officials received a call at 5:57 p.m. Saturday about a fire on the 700 block of Everett Street.

Crews say they saw flames on the roof when they arrived on scene.  The fire started in a piece of machinery near the rooftop.  It took crews two hours to cut into the machinery to expose the fire.

The fire was marked under control between 8:40 and 8:50 p.m.

A firefighter was injured at the scene due to a fall.
